Toronto Star: Soundstreams unveils 2016/17 season

Soundstreams will present the Estonian Philharmonic Choir and Nelson Mandela University Choir, in its Canadian premiere, as part of its 2016/17 season announced Tuesday.

There will be four world premieres by Canadian composers Anna Höstman, Gabriel Dharmoo, Riho Esko Maimets and Omar Daniel.

In addition to three mainstage performances at Koerner Hall, Soundstreams will welcome audiences to St. Paul’s Basilica, Crow’s Theatre’s new venue in Leslieville, the Drake Hotel, the Gardiner Museum and Toronto Public Library branches across the city.

It will also celebrate American composer Philip Glass’s 80th birthday.
