“The first thing I let my students know is that there are no limits,” – SlowPitchSound

Soundstreams is excited to announce that DJ SlowPitchSound is our 2018 TD SoundMakers Composer in Residence! During his time in this role, he will be working with students from across Toronto as a Composer in the Classroom – rapidly creating new pieces with students from across Toronto.

During his time as TD SoundMakers Composer in Residence, SlowPitchSound will be posting regularly about his experiences in the classroom and as a composer. For this first post he shared his thoughts about teaching students from 8 to over 60, and why he’s constantly learning.

“In the future there will be a bunch of SlowPitchSound influenced folks going around, sampling sounds and taking creation to a whole other level.” – SlowPitchSound

SlowPitchSound is also premiering a brand new work in our main stage show Freddy’s Tune, in April 2018. This work will be written for his turntable and The Gryphon Trio, an internationally renowned chamber ensemble containing cello, piano and violin.
