CALL FOR PROPOSALS: Soundstreams’ New Voices: Curator Mentorship Program

Soundstreams is proud to present their newest program, NEW VOICES: Curator Mentorship Program.

Calling all aspiring music programmers! Soundstreams is now inviting proposals to develop and produce a concert on our 2020/21 season as part of our New Voices: Curator Mentorship Program.

This is a unique platform for early- to mid-career music curators, seeking new artistic and professional development opportunities.

“At Soundstreams we’re always looking for new ways to promote new voices and perspectives on our series,” says Emma Fowler, Director of Artistic Planning and Outreach. “It’s also a great opportunity for new curators to ‘level-up’ in their careers.”

One applicant will be selected to work with the Soundstreams team and artistic director Lawrence Cherney over a 1-year period to realize their proposed concept. They will also work with other senior staff to develop practical skills to evaluate the cultural, aesthetic, marketable, and financial aspects of programming in a mid-sized performing arts company.

The successful applicant will receive a fee of $2,000, and access to a project budget of up to $5,000 to produce a concert in Toronto. Soundstreams will also provide access to our offices, and support from our administrative and production team to realize this project.

All submissions must be received by December 1st (11:59 EST)
