TD Encounters – Recovered Voices: piano works of unsung masters

Encounters

Recovered Voices: piano works of unsung masters, offers an unparalleled opportunity to discover memorable works by some of North America’s finest composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, featuring solo piano works from Margaret Bonds, Ian Cusson, Robert Nathaniel Dett, and Florence Price.

The evening features performances by rising stars currently enrolled at our most prestigious training institutions: Elijah Stevens from The Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School, Irene Huang from Taylor Academy in Toronto; and Jesse Plessis from McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in Montreal.

Performances will be paired with a discussion surrounding the relationship of featured composers in their historical and musical eras, culminating with an audience Q&A.
