Fujii Percussion and Voices

Main Stage

Japan’s celebrated Fujii Trio perform selections of Japanese and Canadian repertoire with premieres of new works from both countries.

The virtuoso Fujii family of Japan are joined by the famed Toronto Children’s Chorus, Chorale and other guests as they immerse us in an sound world as rich as it is subtle and precise. Evoking the contrasting experiences of Zen and chaos, the concert encompasses works both modern and traditional—and features a rare Japanese percussion instrument that uses sanukite stones to produce its hauntingly ethereal tone.
